Our instructors are called Cultural Advisors. They are the professionals in the Street and Club Dance culture.
Alex
Originally from the Dominican Republic, Alex Mata (A- Lex) began his training at Casa de Danza in Santiago. He joined DA 21, a choreography based dance crew during its foundational years. At the age of 18, Alex moved to the United States in 2015 where he often traveled to New York to further his training and found interest in streets styles. At EXPG, he met E-Solo who introduced him to the style of Lite Feet and since then Alex has invested in the style through class, sessions, and battles with other prominent Lite Feet figures such as Chrybaby Cozie and Ki-nen. Alex has joined some teams within the Lite Feet culture such as Brweckfast Club and Team Rocket and continues to explore and dive deeper into the Lite Feet culture
Beasty
Beasty, aka Tomoe Carr is a young, determined, passionate, and outgoing artist. She started her dance training in Japan at Next Generation Dance Studio under the tutelage of Cebo Carr. Tomoe spent 10-years training in styles such as Hip Hop, House, Waacking, Locking, Popping, Modern, Ballet, Jazz, and Breaking. Tomoe was the first graduate of the street dance program KiNEXtionS™️ from Next Generation New York Studios Japan. Returning to New York in 2014, she expanded her knowledge of Ballet, Modern, and Feminine Vogue to enhance her training for commercial work. KiNEXtionS™️, fueled Tomoe’s need to develop deeper into street style artforms and so, she gained her freestyle training with pioneer dancers Hurrikane Alain, Robert Bynes, E solo, ChryBaby Cozie, Rascal Randi, and Tatiana Desardouin.
During her Junior and Senior years of High School, Tomoe applied to The National Foundation for the advancement of Artists otherwise known as YoungArts. In 2019, She was chosen as an Honorable mention, where she was immersed in a week long training and a performance intensive. Her hard work was noticed by the board of YoungArts and in 2020 she was chosen to be a finalist in Miami, where she showed her versatility in freestyle .Tomoe graduated from Jacob’s Pillow street and club dance program in 2020, which was led by two legends, Archie Burnett and Ephrat Asherie.
Tomoe is building her portfolio by working with accomplished street dance professionals such as Michele Byrd-McPhee, who is the creator of Ladies Of HipHop Festival. This year, Tomoe has had the opportunity to join Ladies of Hip Hop on their Black Dancing Bodies Project at the Jacob Pillow Lab residency, Works and Process residency at Bethany, and the experience to perform at the Guggenheim. She has had grand opportunities with upcoming artists such as Meg Donnelly on Disney’s “Next Big Thing,” Alicia Keys and Swae Lee’s VMA performance, Jidenna’s music video “Tribe” as a featured dancer and Chris Reed, Kenan Thompson, Ariana DeBose “All On Me” Music Video Skit on SNL. Tomoe has been active in the dance battle scenes for about 7 years around the country, and is now referred to as “Beasty.” She has won titles in battle scenes such as the Broadway Dance Center All Styles Battle in 2018, Ladies Of Hip Hop Festival 2019 (Hip Hop category), and RedBull Dance Your Style Boston Qualifiers, 2021.
Tomoe is also grounded in community focused work creating a safe space for dancers in New York City. Working with NY Pops Up, Tomoe has curated block parties, and flash mobs. NY Pops Up is a festival that provides events for the New York City Locals. As for her performance aspect, she has had the opportunity to work with Torya Beards and Ayodele Casel to be in shows for the community of New York. Tomoe performed at Lincoln Center's 2021 Juneteenth Celebration as well as Little Island’s “They Got Next” performance, and showcased her talent to perform as a Freestyler. She is actively teaching to the kids and hosting dance sessions for adults in her ongoing programs with the Peridance center. On top of working with Village Culture Collective (Ladies of Hip-Hop, Next Generation aka NXGN, I Love My Hood, and Dynamic Rockers) to provide free classes for the public.
This year she has been traveling the country not only to battle or do commercial work but to obtain new information from various dancers and engage in different cultures. She is thriving to become a helpful advocate for the dance community and the non dance community in hopes of bringing more awareness to the industry.
Cal
Peace Everybody, My name is Calvin Hunt (Cal for short). I was born and raised in Brooklyn, I began dancing at age 5 and have been FlexN for 15 years. In 2015 I left the modern day workflow to pursue a career Performing/teaching through the Park Avenue Armory and the Dream Ring. Touring the world under the direction of of Alex Poots, Peter Sellars, and Reggie Gray was incredible, not only because I was able to dance but I was able to share my life through the art of movement and interpersonal connection. In 2017 the opportunity to work with Alex Poots presented itself again through a teaching artist partnership with The Shed, where I was able to instruct students all over NYC teaching dance, studying dance pioneers from their neighborhoods, teaching conflict prevention through the arts, and creating culminating events. As a teaching artist with The Shed I was able to further my education at the National Dance Institute, Lincoln center summer forum, and at 92Y with Dr. Martha Eddy. In 2019 I was honored to find myself dancing at the National Paris opera in an opera called “les indes galantes” where I perfumed a solo dance to the song “vien hymen” which was song by the amazing Sabine Devieilhe. The opera performances resulted in a documentary that went on to be nominated for the Cesar award for best documentary. Throughout my journey its been my love for dance but also my desire to pass my experience and knowledge to the next generation of world changing dancers that has kept me going. My oldest sister who was murdered when I was 14 is my constant inspiration as well. She was able to dance like Michael Jackson and as a kid I always wanted to be like her, I know she is proud of me. Whether we meet through this project or through another amazing circumstance, I thank you for your time and consideration as I aim to show the world more of my life through dance.
Cebo
Cebo is the president of Next Generation NYC, LLC. He has spent his life trying to build the professional structure within the street club dance culture to help develop an understanding of how the heritage of the culture is interwoven with the people of its creation. To fully understand the culture you must know its people to understand the importance and relevance of their contributions.
Next Generation NYC, has celebrated 21 years of supporting the street club culture. Next Generation New York Studios is celebrating its sixteenth anniversary of service to the street club dance community of Okayama, Japan. NXGN is the co-production for the international street dance battle Step Ya Game Up New York also now has preliminaries in two countries China and Japan.
Cebo went to school for architectural design in his second year of studies, life and dance took precedents. As a husband and father of four girls, he has dedicated his life to empowering his ladies to follow their dreams and to have pride in their street club dance heritage. He joined the international organization The Ladies of Hip Hop Festival as a board member. He is the first international house dance winner solidifying his placement in the dance crew Dance Fusion and MopTop Family. He is currently the movement specialist for GoNoodle's Blazer Fresh, which is an app used by schools across the nation for teaching the youth school subject matter through dance. He is serving as the interim Artistic Director for Its Showtime NYC. A program of Dancing In The Streets funded by the state of New York to allow under-resourced street club dance performers to further their professional growth with on the job paid training. Cebo also continues to teach and perform while maintaining his responsibilities as the president of Next Generation NYC, LLC, and spreading the culture through Music, Feeling, and Dance!
Chrybaby
From Harlem, NY, Chrybaby Cozie is one of the founding fathers of the Hip Hop freestyle genre called Lite Feet. Being raised in Harlem in the late 80’s was a source of great influence for Chrybaby, as it was his foundation for dance, music and the source of inspiration to uplift the youth and communities around him today.
Chrybaby has been teaching Lite Feet and Hip Hop, for more than 10 years and is currently teaching at the Peridance Centerin NYC. Chrybaby has been cultivating and keeping the Lite Feet culture alive for ten years with the NYC youth. And through the culture, he has created a Hip Hop dance organization called ‘The Breakfast Club’ E.A.T (Earning All Together) in 2005. ‘The Breakfast Club’ is a platform for youth, to build upon their passion, talent and be given an opportunity to promote themselves in a positive light. After the creation of ‘The Breakfast Club’ Chrybaby created ‘The Lite Feet Nation’; a community connected by individuals who were there from the conception of the dance genre, to the youth who keep it alive today.
His extensive knowledge and connection to Hip Hop and Lite Feet has led him to working with artists such as

Coco
Born in Japan, Cocoro belongs to a world renowned street dance family. Cocoro started her dance training in Japan at Next Generation Dance Studio learning styles such as Hip Hop, House, Waacking and more. She is a graduate of the street dance program KiNEXtions™️ from NXGN Studios and the youngest member of the Ladies of Hip-Hop Dance Collective. She’s performed at many events including the Nets Basketball game(iRep), Step Ya Game Up, Redbull Dance your style, and Love is Love to name a few. She is a artistic, open-minded, and a knowledgeable dancer.
Cocomotion
Dancer, choreographer and New York native; Christina Smith. Better known as CocoMotion is the founder and artistic/founder of NuTribe Dance Company. She is committed to the exploration of street and club styles, including: waacking, hip hop and krump. Her overall mission is to pay homage to her culture as a dancer of the black diaspora. As a company her work focuses on addressing issues including under representation and microaggressions; communicating our lived experiences through the medium of street dance. As a dancer Coco’s T.V appearances include Season 5 episode 4 of the PBS series “Bare Feet with Michela Mallozzi.” And a commercial for the brand Bacardi. Her concert venue appearances include: The Park Avenue Armory, The New Victory Theater, The Guggenheim Museum, SummerStage at Central Park and The Apollo Theater. As a choreographer she is credited with productions at “Dick Rivington and Tommy the Cat” at Abrons Arts Center and “Grand Panorama” La Mama. She is a recent graduate of Hunter College with a M.A in Dance Education. She is a grant recipient of the City Artist Grant and the JCAL Vaxxscene Grant.
Eskillz
Elijah Carr also known as Eskilllz , has been dancing for 11 years in multiple styles such as house, hip-hop and Jersey club - as well as a painter and movement artist. Born in Jersey, Eskilllz affiliation with the Jersey club culture runs deep ,as it is his livelihood and main focus of elevating the dance movement. The creator of ‘SKILLLZ HOUSE’ invites a more intricate method of teaching the jersey club dance style and it’s foundations. While also branching out connections outside of the state New Jersey , he has well strong connections to big jersey scenes and big jersey artists alike. Eskilllz is ready to bring the rooted community to you.
Fred
Fred is an aspiring dancer and teacher, originally from West New York, New Jersey. After graduating high school, Fred joined a local dance team called L.I.T.M (Lost In The Music) where he was introduced to various urban styles including hip hop, locking, popping and breaking house. After a year, Fred parted ways with L.I.T.M. and began dancing in the NYC commercial and underground scene. Here, Fred was exposed to a much higher level of urban dance and had the opportunity to dance with many big names in the NYC scene. Fred trained with Urban Dance League directed by Antboogie from "Amount Boys". He has performed on BET and 106 and Park several times. Fred has also trained with Rhapsody James completing her Motivating Excellence program season 4. Fred is currently teaching, battling, auditioning and always striving to elevate his craft. Leading by example, Fred is living proof that with hard work, dedication, and passion, any dream is possible.
Genious
Korie Genius was born in Kingston, Jamaica and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He has studied various styles of hip hop, and specializes in Dancehall as well as styles like Flexing, Krumping and Popping. Korie is always open to new styles and new ideas. He loves to broaden his visions of dance every day by taking classes and train with the best choreographers in the city. He has been performing for over a decade in various venues all around America. Korie has been seen on the CBS morning show performing with reggae artist Mr.Vegas (2010), with reggae artist Mr.Lexx in Orlando Florida (2010) and international reggae, soca, hiphop artist Bunji Garlin “Brrrt”. He has choreographed music videos for Nikhil P. Yerawadekar & Low Mentality “Run Fast” (2013) and “Chi- ching” by Chairlift (2015). Korie has performed at numerous shows around the tristate area such as Sirens After Dark by Rhapsody James, Sybarite Collective, Carnival, Michael Jackson 25th anniversary to name a few. Currently he works with his company BlackGold who performs and teaches dance nationwide. Korie has been teaching children and adults for many years at some of New York’s most prestige dance schools such as Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Center and a well-known Bronx competition school Performers Edge Dance Academy. He makes his classes fun and positive, allowing everyone to bring out their personalities into their dance. Korie is a growing artist that always strives for the best. His goal is to pass on his passion and unique style as well as making an impact with his dancing and choreography.

Huu Rock
Huu Rock is a dancer, instructor, choreographer, DJ and the Co-Founder of MELLOW ANIMALS, a dancer crew comprising multiple styles of street dance.
Huu Rock started his journey in dance in his hometown of Kochi, Japan, B-boying as a member of the legendary Spin Crew.
Arriving in New York City, Huu Rock was introduced to a wide array of dance styles, music, and the culture that surrounds these art forms, falling in love with all that dance in NYC has to offer.
Huu Rock who got his start on the streets, battling, and in the clubs, has expanded his work to include teaching, appearances on TV and in music videos, and on the stage. Through his work Huu Rock hopes that he can inspire you in the way that his mentors did for him to find your own artistic light.
Imani
Imani Arrington, a Brooklyn native, started her career studying under Angel Chin and performing with her company NonaLee Dance Theatre since 2014. Imani continued her training at Queensborough Community College. During her time, she worked with resident teaching artists Emily Berry, Aviva Geismar and Marjani Forte Saunders. Imani decided to shift her focus from college to pursue her passions and purpose within New York’s street dance culture. She spent that time exploring outside Eurocentric structures and dance forms to nurture the dances she experienced in her upbringing. Since then, she has had the opportunity to expand her community and be mentored by the profound practitioners and tastemakers of the culture. Michele Byrd, Terry ‘Cebo’ Carr, TweetBoogie just to name a few. Imani currently is the dance director for Arts in Bushwick and artistically collaborates, choreographs and performs with the Ladies of Hip Hop Collective.
Jillz
Jillian Amadi Roberts is an antiracist Afrodiasporic dance educator, choreographer, and coach based in Brooklyn, NY. Certified in both Early Childhood Education and Dance, Jillian teaches elementary schoolers in Crown Heights by day, and adult students in studios like Modega, PMT, and Peridance by night. Her groovy choreography has been included in award-winning sets by her team Mint Dance Company, music videos by The Gregory Brothers, Garth, and Tropic, and an off-Broadway musical.
As a Writer and Advisor for the Freedom Movement collective, Jillian works with communities to unpack anti-blackness in the dance industry and creates educational content about Afrodiasporic dance and culture. A native of Washington, DC, Jillian’s dance education spans nearly 25 years in street, stage, club, and cultural dances of the African diaspora and beyond. Her class focuses on the foundational technique and fundamental steps of hip hop dance, driven by the undeniable groove that’s embedded in a diverse body of Black music. Jillian is honored and privileged to be a part of NXGN Faculty and looking forward to sharing with the West New York community!
Kia
Kid Glyde
Victor “Kid Glyde” Alicea’s credo is “If you can conceive it, you can achieve it”. Throughout his life’s journey, not only has he already achieved and accomplished most of his goals, he continues to advance and perfect his professional portfolio. With his roots stemming from Queens, New York, he received his initial training and lessons from his father Glyde and Kid Freeze, both were original members of the Dynamic Rockers. Kid Glyde’s mastery and passion towards his craft truly paid off, he not only inherited the New York City B-Boy Crew, The Dynamic Rockers, and he currently serves as the President and revived the group. Kid Glyde has appeared in acclaimed dance movies such as ‘Step Up 2 & 3’, ‘Bumper’, ‘You Got Serve’, ‘Pressure’, and the b-boy documentary ‘All Out War’. He was also the principal actor in “I Break NY”, a webisode series about Kid Glyde and the Dynamic Rockers’ struggles and triumphs in 2009. After Kid Glyde’s first major battle victory in 2006 at the Universal Zulu Nation B-boy/B-girl Throwdown, he successfully continued to advance as a professional b-boy. He has taken titles at major battles such as the ‘Rock Steady Crew Anniversary Battles’ in 2007 and 2008 and in 2009, his crew won the Eurobattle. He also represented the USA in the 2009 Red Bull BC One Competition, the most prestigious 1 v. 1 b-boy battle in the world. Recently, Kid Glyde and the Dynamic Rockers have been taking battles by storm, winning first place in the Masters of the Art 6 battle in NYC, Funk What U Heard in Connecticut, and representing the USA at IBE (International Breaking Event), the largest international b-boying tournament. He even organizes major events himself, such as the famous B-boy Massacre series and the unique Octagon NYC battles. Victor “Kid Glyde” Alicea is the president of KBL Foundation and the Founder of Kids breaking League, where he teaches all age groups from kids to adult. He, also is the featured b-boy expert for HowCast.com, an online tutorial website. In 2018, Kid Glyde was featured in VH1’s Hip Hop Honors Commercial for Head and Shoulders. He also performed at the Skirball Theater Performance at McDonald’s Battle Royal, Apollo Theater, Hudson River Museum, We Day at Barclays 2018, Hush Tours and Dancer’s Delight Tour Guide. He also had the pleasure of serving as a judge at the Portugal Casino Battle in November 2018. In 2019, he organized the Kids Breaking League (KBL) Event in the Jersey City Armory and the Thanksgiving Day feeding the homeless with the Kids Breaking League teaching the youth to give back to the community. He has served as a judge in several battles such as: Hong Kong Performance where he also was an instructor, Hip Hop Al Parque in Bogota, Colombia and the SEA Games in the Philippines. Kid Glyde also performed and choreographed several events such as: World Battle Surf and Break Winner, 2019 Dance Parade (choreographed), 2019 Bronx Day Performance (choreographed), Perth Amboy Performance (choreographed), Dynamic Kids was invited to performed at Rep Your City Seattle MM Day, Music Video with Saigon, 2019 Bronx Beach Show, Free Reign 1st Place New Jersey, 2019 Lemonade Day, 2019 Saigon Flash Mob, August 2019 Cultural Exchange with Portugal, 2019 Graffiti Hall of Fame Battle Winner, Apple Store Launch Party Performance (choreographed), September 23, 2019 Red Bulls Performance New Jersey, We Day Barclays Performance (co-choreographed), Bronx 46 Year of Hip Hop Party Performance and October 5, 2019 Comic Con Philly (choreographed). When the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown occurred within New York City, Kid Glyde remained inspired and continued to keep his eyes on his goals as he participated in several events and battles. In March 8, 2020 he was a Competitive Breaking League (CBL) finalist, March 26, 2020 Battle Fest Online Dance Session Guest Dancer, September 26, 2020 Kids of NY Event, October 7, 2020 NYC Voter Registration Event Drives and Rock the Bells Online Concert (featured as a Dancer). In 2021, Kid Glyde was part of a music video, he also tied for 4th Place in the USA Breakin, CBL Champ 2021 and was in Step Here for Dance Party “Improve Everywhere”. He also continues to host and organize the KBL online season and tournament. Kid Glyde remains a prominent and inspirational b-boy in the hip-hop community and continues to take b-boying culture to the next level.
Miyabi
Miyabi has a full background in street dance and is trained in many different styles such as Hip Hop, House, Waacking, and vogue. She has danced with icons such as Janet Jackson and Elton John to name a few. Miyabi is now spreading the art of street dance through performing and educating with Ladies of Hip Hop and Next Generation NYC.
